Senior Project Manager - Defence Position Description CGI require several experienced Senior Project Managers to work within the Defence facing Secure Innovations and Advisory team. These roles will have lead responsibility for project delivery, working collaboratively with our client team in Defence Digital.The work will be part of a well-established programme supporting the client team as the customer-friend, leading teams of technical staff to support the client’s portfolio of project delivery. The successful incumbents will have experience of working within MOD’s acquisition framework covering various aspects of the whole lifecycle, so this means project definition, assurance and approvals, support to competitive tendering process and leadership of project delivery and transition in to service. The roles will involve leading, or working as part of, small teams of specialists to deliver outcomes such as business case approvals, invitations to tender and project delivery acceptance. The type of individuals we are looking for will be self-starters who strives to achieve outcomes, comfortable working alongside the client teams within their defined acquisition processes and have strong leadership, communication and consultative skills. The role will also require working in a highly collaborative environment with Defence Digital, their customers, other defence suppliers and a range of MOD specialists providing assurance and advice to projects.The projects themselves involve the definition and delivery of IT systems and services, using both agile and traditional methodologies. As such the Senior Project Manager will require prior knowledge of ICT delivery in Defence, an understanding of acquisition and approvals practice from previous roles with Defence Digital and/or DE&S, a familiarity with the ITIL Service Management lifecycle, and experience of both traditional project management and SAFe agile practices. The positions can be based remotely or out of our CGI Bristol office, with some travel required to our client's locations in Bristol, Cambridgeshire and London. Your future duties and responsibilities The role involves:•Leading a small team of technical specialists to work with and on behalf of the MoD Project Management team. •The production of project management artefacts (schedules, risk analysis, cost models etc) and acquisition products (business cases, assurance documentation etc) and the oversight of the production of technical documentation(architecture, requirements, designs etc).•Strong collaborative skills and good relationship management with key stakeholders in Defence Digital, their customers and with other industry partners. •Ensuring our commitments are fulfilled to a high level of quality and client satisfaction •Prior knowledge of ICT delivery in Defence is essential for this role. •Experience of working in the Defence Digital or DE&S acquisition environment is strongly preferred, and familiarity with Defence systems at higher classifications is important. Required qualifications to be successful in this role The successful candidate must: •Hold a minimum of SC clearance with DV highly desirable•Have a minimum of 5 years project delivery experience in Defence, with proven experience on tasks involving the design, delivery and/or support of ICT systems•Have confidence working in a client-side advisory role, and as a relationship manager •Have the flexibility to travel, to meet regular commitments in Bristol and farther afieldUnconditionally inclusive.
